Northeast Georgia Medical Center boasts Georgia’s #1 heart care program and was named as a Thompson Reuters National Top 100 hospital in 2009. Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s expert level of care has been recognized on a national and statewide level including:

  • Number one in Georgia and top 5% in the nation for Cardiac Care
  • Accredited with Commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commisions on Cancer for Cancer Care

NGMC’s new $180 million North Patient Tower houses 32 (ICU) beds, 96 surgical beds and offers patients new options for surgery. The seven story building features new surgery suites, a dedicated endovascular suite and new space for endoscopy, imaging and other support services.

NGMC’s main campus in Gainesville is less than an hour away from downtown Clatyon.

Mountain Lakes Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Clayton, is focused on providing high quality healthcare to the community. Recent growth in the area is evident in the expansion of the medical center which provides 24 hour emergency room and ambulance services; a radiology department with CT, x-ray, mammography and ultrasound services; a full service 24 hour clinical laboratory for both inpatient and outpatient testing; surgical services; physical and respiratory therapy; and nutritional services.

The Rabun County Health Department provides health services to county residents on a sliding scale fee basis, depending on income. The clinic provides children’s health services, women’s health services, and immunizations, and administers the WIC program.
